During the launch of the UPLB-PS-DBM Off-Campus Management Graduate Program in PS-PhilGEPS Paco Office attended by Dr. Portia G. Lapitan Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, UPLB; Dr. Fernando C. Sanchez, Jr. Chancellor, UPLB; Alfredo E. Pascual President, University of the Philippines; DBM Undersecretary Richard E. Moya; PS-PhilGEPS Executive Director Jose Tomas C. Syquia; Dr. Jose V. Camacho, Jr. Dean, UPLB Graduate School; and UPLB faculty and staff. 

The Procurement Service – Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PS-PhilGEPS) of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) today announces its partnership with the country’s premier university, the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) for its Graduate Program offer to its officials and employees.

In the “Kick-Off” last November 26, 2015 held at the office of the PS-PhilGEPS, Atty. Jose Tomas C. Syquia, Executive Director of the PS-PhilGEPS, proudly announced the partnership and thanked the UPLB leadership for providing its graduate program to the PS-PhilGEPS.

The ceremony was attended by DBM Undersecretary Richard Bon E. Moya, PS-PhilGEPS Executive Director Syquia, UP President Alfredo E. Pascual, UPLB Chancellor Fernando C. Sanchez, Jr., UPLB Vice Chancellor Portia G. Lapitan, officials of both the PS-PhilGEPS and the UPLB and the students of the program.

The partnership was the result of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the PS-PhilGEPS and the UPLB on the provision of a Graduate Program-Masters in Business Management. The PS-PhilGEPS is providing partial scholarship to its officials and employees availing the program at 50% of total fees. The program will run for 18 months.

The program has a total of 30 students out of which 23 are from the PhilGEPS and 7 are from other government agencies like the DepEd, NATTCO, National Library of the Philippines, and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

The program is an off-campus endeavor and is held on weekends at the Conference Room of the PS-PhilGEPS in Paco, Manila.
