In line with the ongoing expansion of the list of common-use supplies and equipment (CSE) in the eMarketplace, the Procurement Service-Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) met with Amazon Web Services (AWS) on April 22, 2026, to discuss opportunities for the onboarding of cloud computing services in the online procurement platform.
AWS outlined its commitment to supporting PS-DBM through comprehensive training, skilling, and capacity-building initiatives, which would focus on strengthening competencies in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud infrastructure, and machine learning—equipping PS-DBM personnel with the skills needed to drive innovation in procurement and supply chain operations.
The meeting likewise explored the development of a curated menu of cloud computing services that could be offered through the PhilGEPS eMarketplace. Through this initiative, AWS aims to provide government agencies with ready-to-deploy solutions and professional services that simplify procurement processes and accelerate digital adoption.
The engagement brought together AWS ASEAN Managing Director Jeff Johnson, PH Manager Precious Lim, Public Sector Lead Emy Saguinsin, and PS-DBM officials—Executive Director Genmaries Entredicho-Caong, Deputy Executive Directors Marlita Dagsa and Philip Josef Vera Cruz, Acting Director April Flor Borlagdatan-Vejano, Information and Communications Technology Division Chiefs Sharon Baile and Karl Michael Espejo, Atty. Lyodychie Camarao, and Atty. Charlotte Vina Casinillo.
Marking a step forward for President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s administration’s directive to strengthen global partnerships with technology providers, the meeting supports PS-DBM’s goal of building a more responsive, efficient, and future-ready procurement ecosystem. May 7, 2026 | CM
