Supporting the Department of Health (DOH)–National Nutrition Council (NNC) in the national celebration of the 52nd Nutrition Month: “Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan!” and sustaining a supportive and appreciative workplace, the Procurement Service-Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) conducted its nutrition month activities—a seminar-workshop and a week-long wellness walk challenge.
The Fit, Fair, and Fast-Paced: PS-DBM Ultimate Step Challenge, led by the Human Resource Development Division (HRDD), began on July 23, 2026, engaging 108 registered participants in a walking campaign, encouraging its workforce to stay active and promote physical wellness.
In the August 3 flag ceremony, Administrative and Finance Director Cristina Pariñas awarded the winners—those reaching a total of 154,000 to 240,000 steps—of the challenge. Emerging as winners were Engr. Neil Christian Dag-uman, Engr. Lloyd Cedrick, Ms. Mildred Lozano, Accounting Division Chief Lady Lou Gimeno, Ms. Jennifer Ancheta, and Ms. Imelda Estacio—all of whom impressively surpassed the 200,000-step milestone.
Attended by 77 PS-DBM employees, the hybrid nutrition seminar-workshop was spearheaded by the GSD-Health Service Section in collaboration with HRDD and under the guidance of Administrative, Finance, and Legal Group Deputy Executive Director (DED) Marlita Dagsa. The event, facilitated by DOH-NNC Nutrition Officer Chelsea Ann Sison, presented essential topics such as good nutrition and its effects, components of a balanced diet, poor nutrition, gut health and mental well-being, and the promotion of good nutrition in the workplace.
Aligned with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive for human capital development, PS-DBM, together with the DBM under the leadership of Acting Secretary Kim Robert de Leon, acknowledges that proper physical and cognitive foundations serve as cornerstones in promoting a productive working environment.
