Advancing the agency’s strategic commitment to digital transformation in public procurement, the Procurement Service-Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) held an alignment meeting with Amazon Web Services (AWS) on August 26, 2026, to facilitate the integration of cloud computing services (CCS) into the eMarketplace, the government’s official e-commerce platform for common-use supplies and equipment (CSE).
The meeting primarily focused on coordinating the project timeline for onboarding and subsequent launching of CCS on the platform. Subject to the submission, finalization, and formal execution of the requisite documentation, AWS CCS is expected to become available on the eMarketplace by October 2026.
The discussions also covered enhanced eMarketplace functionalities designed to better support government agencies and procurement entities. In particular, PEs will be able to conduct market scoping through the platform, providing an essential baseline reference for strategic planning and budget preparation.
PS-DBM also underscored that procurement through the eMarketplace is designed to generate savings, reinforcing the primary objective of onboarding these offerings—to secure the most advantageous pricing for the whole government.
The meeting was attended by Executive Director Genmaries Entredicho-Caong, Procurement Office Director April Flor Borlagdatan-Vejano, AWS officials Ms. Emy Lou Saguinsin and Ms. Yen Arzadon, and members of the eMarketplace Merchant Registration Committee(EMRC)-ICT Ms. Sharon Baile, Mr. Karl Michael Espejo, Engr. Niña Bautista, Mr. Karlou Borja, Mr. Jade Edwin Apin, Engr. Monica Andrea Albyalde, and Ms. Marian Brigette Balin.
This initiative marks a step toward advancing President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administrative efforts to strengthen global partnerships with technology providers and reinforces the commitment of the DBM, led by Acting Secretary Kim Robert de Leon, to establishing a more responsive, efficient, and future-ready public procurement ecosystem.
