The Procurement Service, in partnership with Samsung Philippines, announces the availability of the Samsung ProXpress M3820ND Monochrome Laser Printer at a special price of P1,653.60 available to all government clients. This offer is while supplies last. PS currently has 760 units left in its stock. This is a one-time special offer from Samsung Philippines. In the retail market, the printer on sale is sold at the price of more than P15, 000.00.
The Samsung ProXpress M3820ND is a monochrome laser and network-ready printer. For the detailed technical specifications, clients may click “Common-used Items” under the “What We Sell” link at the PS website (www.procurementservice.gov.ph).
Agencies need to prepare an Agency Procurement Request (APR) and submit the form together with payment, just like ordering commonly-used stocks from the PS. The PS likewise carries in stock the consumables for the Samsung ProXpress printer.

The Procurement Service (PS) and the Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PhilGEPS) is adopting a unified logo that will be utilized in its websites and all graphical representations like office, marketing and communication materials.
The PS is an attached agency under the Department of Budget and Management. Created under Letter of Instructions No. 755 on October 18, 1978, it was mandated to establish an integrated procurement system for the national government and its instrumentalities. Subsequent issuances by the Office of the President through the years further strengthened the PS mandate and prescribed its expansion through a network of regional depots. PS is headed by an Executive Director IV and is the government’s central purchaser of commonly-used supplies, materials and equipment. It also acts as Procurement Agent for other government agencies for non-commonly used and wide-ranging items - from textbooks, school furniture, drugs and medicines, agricultural equipment, softwares, consultancy and infra projects to vehicles and things as complex as combat gears, ammunitions and airport security equipment. The PS logo is representative of the brick and mortar aspect of the business of government procurement as it operates the procurement and distribution of government’s diverse needs.
In December 2014, PhilGEPS communicated that aside from the archiving of prior years’ procurement data in the PhilGEPS website, the Virtual Store facility which is the online store for the purchase of commonly used supplies and equipment from the Procurement Service will also be temporarily disabled. These measures were employed to enable ease of use both by government agencies and merchants in the posting and downloading of bid information in www.philgeps.gov.ph website and to mitigate the frequent slowdown and unavailability of the website.
The PS-PhilGEPS management has decided that it will be best to disable the virtual store facility in the present system and to implement the updated Virtual Store that is currently being developed within the modernized PhilGEPS which is set for implementation within 2015. As such, all VS user accounts will be temporarily disabled and the VS will not be available for use except for the Electronic Catalogue that can be accessed both in the PS and PhilGEPS website for reference as to the list, prices and detailed specifications of items available from the Procurement Service. Nonetheless, all APRs for the procurement of Common-Use Supplies will be received and processed manually thru the Agency Servicing Division (ASD) of the Procurement Service.
