As the price of some goods steadily increases, the Procurement Service - Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) is offering common-use supplies and equipment (CSE) including information and communication technology (ICT) equipment at a rate that has never changed since it was first made available for purchase of client-agencies.
The PS-DBM is boosting its promotional campaign for said items in anticipation of a possible price surge. With technical specifications approved by the Department of Information and Communications Technology, purchasing brand new midrange laptops at this point in time is guaranteed value for money.
Furthermore, despite easing the COVID-19 restrictions under Alert Level 1, which may bring back a sense of normalcy in terms of in-person interactions, the use of ICT equipment to explore the digital space transcends the pandemic. This also wishes to reiterate that all government agencies are legally mandated to procure CSE requirements including ICT equipment under Letter of Instructions No. 755 and Republic Act No. 9184. In addition, please be reminded that in the General Provisions of the General Appropriations Act of 2022, Section 25 prescribes that “...ICT Equipment shall be procured exclusively from the Procurement Service." The PS-DBM Main clientele must purchase via the Virtual Store. If your agency is not VS-registered for valid reasons, or is requiring the item in bulk quantity, you may prepare and submit a funded Agency Procurement Request (APR). For personal use, government employees can buy from the Main Office Retail Store in Paco, Manila. Agencies outside of the National Capital Region may inquire to the nearest Regional Depot Office in their area.
