The Procurement Service - Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) made history following the successful organization and conduct of ONE PS-DBM Fun Run 2023 on October 15, 2023 held within the historic walls of Intramuros, Manila. The event was the first of its kind for the agency, gathering around 1,500 participants composed of the officials and employees of PS-DBM Main Office and Regional Depots; fellow public servants; and the general public.
PS-DBM recognizes its human resource as the main asset of the agency. But more than the promotion of health and wellness to improve productivity among the members of its workforce, the event likewise served as an avenue to foster camaraderie and strengthen partnerships with its stakeholders — as PS-DBM continues to advocate for efficiency and transparency in government procurement geared towards improving public service delivery.
With categories and distances of 1.5 km, 3 km, 5 km, and 10 km, the race was a witness to the harmonious assembly of civil servants from various government offices such as DBM, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Civil Service Commission, Games and Amusement Board, National Development Company, National Food Authority, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, among others.
The event, which also gathered and unified professional runners and running enthusiasts of different backgrounds and ages, was a testament to the very theme of the agency’s milestone anniversary celebration, “ONE PS-DBM: 45 Years of Procurement and Service.
“Together, let’s run as one!” PS-DBM Executive Director Atty. Dennis Santiago said in his welcome message.

Apart from the race, several other activities were conducted such as Zumba dance sessions and a photo contest tagged as “Fun Run, Fun Shots.” The top three winners for both the men’s and women’s divisions of each category were awarded. The program was capped off with the presentation of a same-day edit (SDE) video which cemented the success of the event.
PS-DBM extends its utmost gratitude to the event organizers, led by the agency’s Marketing and Sales Division, as well as the event partners, namely, Intramuros Administration, various Barangays of Intramuros, Ermita Police, Philippine Coast Guard, Metro Manila Development Authority, Fitbar, Pocari Sweat, Maynilad, and Republic Biscuit Corporation (REBISCO).
