The Procurement Service – Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) is one with the nation in celebrating the National Women’s Month 2023 this March.
This year’s celebration banners the recurring theme from 2023 to 2028: WE for gender equality and inclusive society, with a mission to empower women by providing them with equal opportunities and capacitating them with skills. Through the creation of jobs that ultimately results in poverty reduction, this shall help steer the economy to a high-growth path.
Women empowerment also puts the spotlight on the attainment of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal No. 5 on Gender Equality, reinforced by other developmental programs that cultivate not only a gender-responsive society but an inclusive one.
Relative to these efforts and initiatives, PS-DBM encourages all its employees in the Main Office and across the regions to wear purple on all Wednesdays of March.
PS-DBM echoes the global call to action on closing gender gaps and gathering more support geared towards economic and social transformation.
