The Procurement Service – Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) delegated its women leaders to attend Philippine Commission on Women’s (PCW) event to celebrate the International Women’s Day today, March, 8, 2023 with the theme, “Breaking the Code: Equality for All through Technology and Innovation.”

With a special video message from President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr., and keynote message from Vice President Sara Duterte, the event gathered notable women personalities from other government agencies, organizations, and policy-related groups.

In partnership with the United Nations, the event focused on the discussion of creating programs to advance the visibility, participation, inclusion, and rights of women in the fields of digital, technology, and innovation. The protection of women from online risks and vulnerabilities were also tackled.

PS-DBM Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) Chairperson Samantha Grace Moscoso (right), together with GFPS Technical Working Group Head Rosalinda Dapito (left) and GFPS Executive Committee Member Atty. Genmaries Entredicho–Caong (center), immersed themselves in the discussions with the goal of not only increasing women representation but also upholding the agency’s digitalization efforts.

Other activities included networking with VIPs, commitment ceremony, press conference, and more sessions of discussion on the use of information and communications technology for women empowerment; positive impact on mental health on social media; safe community spaces; and other innovations for women.

PS-DBM is one with the international arena in celebrating the International Women’s Day — recognizing that the empowerment of women and girls through promotion of public awareness on gender equality and issues paves the way towards an inclusive society.
