The construction of the Php 935-million New National Institutes of Health (NIH) Building of the University of the Philippines (UP) Manila Campus has kicked-off with its Groundbreaking Ceremony on 20 July 2016. PS-PhilGEPS Executive Directors Atty. Jose Tomas Syquia and Rosa Maria Clemente attended the ceremony.

The PS-PhilGEPS was tapped as the procurement agent in the conduct of the bidding of this project. Its tender was managed by the Bids and Awards Committee I. The project shall cover the design and build of the NIH which has a project site of approximately 3,750 square meters located within the UP Manila Campus. The high-rise clinical building and research laboratory shall be consistent with the principles of sustainable building and development of the US Green Building Council for Leadership in Environmental Excellence and principles of resilient design in response to climate change. Furthermore, the project is seen to benefit from energy savings and lower facility operation cost.

The NIH will be built by the Consortium of BF Corporation and Philab Industries, Inc. and is expected to be completed by November 23, 2018.
