In support of the Inter-agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), the Procurement Service-Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) donated essential items for the operational continuity of the task group.
The donations include 1,300 gallons of alcohol, 160 reams of bond paper, 700 pieces of ballpens, 34 pieces of markers, and 15,000 pieces of surgical masks. The items will be supplied to the mega-swabbing facilities located at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila, and the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
In a letter request to PS-DBM, President and CEO of the Bases and Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) and National Action Plan Against COVID-19 Deputy Chief Implementer Vivencio ‘Vince’ Dizon said that the items are urgently needed to sustain the operation of the facilities.
The supplies will also be turned over to some Local Government Units (LGU) in their conduct of free RT-PCR swab testing offered by the National Task Force under its Aggressive Community Testing (ACT) Program.
The PS-DBM remains committed to provide smart procurement solutions—the fulfillment of which includes charitable donations such as this. In May last year, the IATF also received donated items from the PS-DBM.
