The Procurement Service – Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) joins the annual commemoration of International Day of Persons with Disability (PWD).

The PS-DBM recognizes that the rights, privileges, and well-being of PWD need priority attention and action, especially in integrating them into mainstream activities of various fields to enjoy productive lives. This includes education, health, sports, entertainment, social protection, and other aspects of human development.

In terms of employment, PS-DBM offers a work environment that promotes diversity and provides multitudes of opportunities to all employees. In a statement, the PS-DBM Senior Citizens, PWD, and Youth (SCPWDY) Committee says that it continuous to value PWDs’ efforts and contributions in developing a better society.

This is also the agency’s response to this year’s theme, “Leadership and participation of persons with disabilities toward an inclusive, accessible, and sustainable post-COVID-19 world,” which calls for more collaborative engagements of and with PWD in the time of a global health crisis.

In simpler forms, the PS-DBM maintains a PWD-friendly workplace by ensuring that the facilities in its premises such as ramps and comfort rooms are ideal for the mobility of any disabled person. The SCPWDY Committee also conducts orientations on the benefits package of PWD, as well as seminars and trainings on financial literacy and investment.

These initiatives are a testament that the agency is committed to increase awareness on the situation of PWD in every aspect of political, social, economic, and cultural life.

Happy International Day of PWD!
