Following its successful conduct of the same training for Main Office employees, the Customer Service teams of both the Marketing and Sales Division and the Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PhilGEPS) of the Procurement Service - Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) conducted another orientation on the use of the Virtual Store (VS) and functionalities of the modernized PhilGEPS, this time, among the regional depot personnel on May 12, 2023 via Google Meet.

VS is a one-stop online platform where client-agencies can select, view, search, and procure Common-use Supplies and Equipment (CSE) at an affordable rate. The use of VS forms part of PS-DBM’s efforts geared towards digital transformation as it enables faster ordering process of CSEs, real-time stock levels and prices, easy-payment process through e-Wallet, and online ordering in accordance with the uploaded Annual Procurement Plan for CSE.

In his opening remarks, Director for Regional Operations Group Mr. Dave Valderrama emphasized on the benefits of using VS.

“Makikita ninyo naman kung ano talaga ‘yong advantages nitong Virtual Store sa client-agencies natin at para din sa inyo, since makikita natin kung gaano kabilis ang ating processing,” Dir. Valderrama said, lauding the platform’s ease of access.

Apart from the three-hour interactive training with virtual simulation led by trainers Mr. Robert humarang and Ms. May Ann Chan, Ms. Leah Valdez and Ms. Aira Mira Malinao of MSD also briefed the participants about the Government Fares Agreement (GFA). A forum for questions and answers was also facilitated.

VS is presently accessible by client-agencies within the National Capital Region and nearby provinces, with plans to have it rolled out across the regions.
