The Procurement Service – Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) hosted a logistics training and warehouse tour for the Philippine National Police (PNP) as part of its 45-day course on logistics management.
In a letter, the PNP Directorate for Logistics tapped PS-DBM to facilitate educational training and an observation tour participated by 52 personnel. Spearheaded by the Customer Service Team of the Marketing and Sales Division, the session kicked off with a walk-through of the eMarketplace, a new feature of the modernized Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PhilGEPS) that will serve as the government's e-commerce platform for the procurement of Common-use Supplies and Equipment (CSE).
The Warehouse and Delivery Division (WADD) and the Inspection Division also led a presentation on the systematic process of inventory maintenance to ensure efficient organization and tracking of the agency’s CSE stocks. The lecture was followed by a tour to PS-DBM’s warehouse facilities, with representatives from WADD filling them in with best practices on logistics management.
Operations Group Director Atty. Philip Josef T. Vera Cruz expressed his gratitude to PNP for inviting PS-DBM to host another leg of this educational pursuit. He also shared other relevant updates on the upcoming launching of the eMarketplace and its pilot products.
