The Procurement Service - Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) in September 2024 graced the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) in San Miguel, Manila to accommodate its request for an in-house training on various procurement matters.
The topics for discussion included the accomplishment and submission of the Annual Procurement Plan for Common-use Supplies and Equipment (CSE), shopping as an alternative mode of procurement, use of the Virtual Store, and updates on Government Fares Agreement process, among others.
Led by the Marketing and Sales Division, the activity was a session of the Customer Service team’s PS-DBM Client Learning Engagement (PS-CLE) which gathered personnel from identified offices/units within PCO, such as the Property and Supply Management Section.
Together with representatives from its Procurement Division and General Service Division, PS-DBM also covered legal bases for the fulfillment of the agency’s mandate to operate a centralized procurement system of CSE for the whole of government. The new features of the modernized Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PhilGEPS)—e-Bidding and eMarketplace—were likewise introduced. A walkthrough and hands-on training on the use of the same functionalities was also conducted.
A forum to discuss PCO’s concerns about procurement proceeded after the lecture.
PS-DBM, through its own initiative or by invitation from other government agencies, conducts PS-CLE not only to capacitate its clientele but also to create a space for dialogue between PS-DBM and its stakeholders. | September 23, 2024/PM
