#PSnaps: More than 50 personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) from various regions visited the Procurement Service – Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) in September 2024 for an educational training and facility tour as part of its Logistics Management Course, with emphasis on the technical aspects of warehouse management.
In a lecture that took place before the observation tour, PS-DBM trainers presented the agency’s logistics and warehouse system—from identifying and sorting products in the warehouse to the shipment of supplies—allowing them to digest best practices on processes involving day-to-day operations of a warehouse.
A preview of the eMarketplace, an additional feature of the modernized Philippine Government Procurement Electronic System (PhilGEPS) that shall serve as the government’s official e-commerce platform for the procurement of goods, also formed part of the discussion.
“Trust us to improve ‘yung mga services po natin dito sa PS-DBM and abangan po ninyo ang eMarketplace namin… Mas madali na for you, sa mga personnel natin at officers, na mag-procure,” said Operations Group Director Atty. Philip Josef Vera Cruz in his closing remarks, providing updates on the developments brought by the passage of the New Government Procurement Act (NGPA).
PS-DBM welcomes these capacity-building engagements aimed at increasing productivity of other government agencies in the field of supply chain and logistics management, whilst strengthening relationships among stakeholders.
