Forming part of its series of relief operations, the Procurement Service - Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) donated relief goods to the Tarabangan-Bicol Disaster Volunteer Network—through the WeSolve Foundation (WSF), a partner civil society organization (CSO)—which bridged the agency and the communities in the Bicol region. Region V took the brunt of the effects of recent typhoons in the country.
On November 26, 2024, PS-DBM turned over 250 packs of ready-to-eat food, first aid kits, and hygiene essentials to the volunteer group. Leading the activity was Executive Director (ED) Genmaries “Gen” S. Entredicho-Caong. In her message, ED Gen shared that this initiative is enabled by the success of the One PS-DBM Fun Run 2024 in October—the proceeds of which are allotted to the agency’s social responsibility programs.
“Thank you for accepting our invitation to be our partner organization in distributing these goods… It is very timely [now that we have resources] to put up donations for those who are affected,” ED Gen said.
Also present were Deputy EDs Atty. Philip Josef T. Vera Cruz and Rommel D. Rivera; Acting Directors Samantha Grace E. Moscoso and Atty. April Flor Borlagdatan-Vejano; Race Director Mary Rose Aganon; and Procurement Office’s Engr. Diane Arbitrario and Rosemarie Andulan-Dulce. In attendance to receive the donations were Yani Zoili and Nicole Anne Cobarrubias.
WSF is PS-DBM’s partner CSO through an ongoing collaboration for procurement reforms under the Open Contracting Partnership’s (OCP) LIFT Program—a testament to the agency’s inclusive approach in its delivery of public services, covering public procurement and beyond. | November 29, 2024/PM
