The Procurement Service - Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) workforce proudly dons shades of purple attire as a declaration of support for the National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) 2025.
Guided by this year’s NWMC sub-theme, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,” PS-DBM’s Gender and Development-Focal Point System (GDFPS) organized a series of relevant activities that empower women in advancing their rights and promoting gender equality.
Some of these were conducted in collaboration with other government agencies, stretching throughout the month-long celebration. Initiated by its GDFPS, PS-DBM provided seminars to provide opportunities for livelihood development such as the “Orientation and Skills Demonstration on Food and Beverage Services,” in partnership with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Women’s Center; “Orientation on RISE UP Program,” in partnership with Small Business Corporation; and “Basic Orientation on Intellectual Property,” in partnership with Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines.
Apart from these livelihood trainings, #PurpleThursdays were encouraged in the entire month of March, which came with Zumba sessions. NWMC-themed flag ceremony, on the first working day of each week, was consistently held. NWMC banners of support remain highly visible in the office premises.
PS-DBM, under the leadership of Executive Director Genmaries S. Entredicho-Caong, and through programs initiated by its GDFPS chaired by Director for Administrative and Finance Office Marlita V. Dagsa, is steadfast in its commitment to maintaining an environment of growth and providing opportunities for economic advancement—recognizing that empowered women empower the nation.
