As part of the annual year-end activities in the Procurement Service - Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM), officials and employees of the agency’s regional depots (RDs) came together for the operational workshop held from December 18-19, 2024 in Manila.
Anchored on the PS-DBM’s agency-wide assessment this December, the activity served as an avenue for strategic planning of RDs to review their accomplishments in 2024 and assess which among the existing initiatives and programs are most effective in achieving the 2025 targets—ultimately improving the operational efficiency of PS-DBM.
Led by the Regional Operations Office, under the supervision of Director Jaime M. Navarrete, Jr., the PS-DBM’s network of regional depots is comprised of Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) – Baguio, La Union, Tuguegarao, Pampanga, Legazpi, Cebu, Tacloban, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Koronadal, and Butuan.
Among the focus areas of the assessment was the drafting of an operational workplan to identify organizational issues, set priorities, overcome challenges, and spearhead reform projects vis à vis the key result areas of depots nationwide.
The Executive Management Committee, headed by Executive Director Genmaries S. Entredicho-Caong, also graced the workshop to provide insights about the agency’s Office Performance Commitment Review, on which the succeeding year’s plans and targets are based.
Apart from the two-day planning, RD employees and personnel also took part in basketball and volleyball games against players of the Main Office team—fostering sportsmanship and camaraderie among all offices. Team RD clinched the victory in both matches.
To culminate their visit, RDs are also set to grace the year-end gathering of DBM and its attached agencies on Friday, December 20, 2024. | December 19, 2024/LR
