In this season of giving, the Procurement Service – Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) conducted an outreach program for the residents of Barangay 662 in Paco, Manila—where the agency is located—on December 20, 2024 as part of the its social responsibility advocacies resulting from the success of the ONE PS-DBM Fun Run 2024.

The event is among the activities of PS-DBM as the year comes to a close, gathering around 50 children, aged 3-10 years old, together with their families. 

In her message, Executive Director (ED) Genmaries “Gen” S. Entredicho-Caong shared that this outreach program is just one in a series of donation drives spearheaded by PS-DBM enabled by the proceeds of the fun run event in October 2024. 

“Noong nakaraang bagyo, nakapag-donate kami sa dalawang organisasyon na nagbigay ng relief sa mga affected na lugar sa Bicol,” said ED Gen, followed by an expression of gratitude to its neighbors for sharing the spirit of Christmas with PS-DBM. 

Apart from grocery baskets and toys, PS-DBM also donated equipment for the barangay’s daycare center, including a sound system with microphone, a printer, and electric fans. “Sana ho makatulong sa mga pumapasok nating mga anak para komportable sila sa kanilang pagpasok [sa klase] araw-araw,” ED Gen added. 

Fun games were also facilitated for the beneficiaries. Closing the event was Deputy ED Philip Josef T. Vera Cruz, reiterating that this season is best spent when shared and celebrated with children. 

"Maligayang Pasko sa ating lahat… Maigi po na naisip ng ating Executive Committee na marapat ding magbigay tayo ng kasiyahan sa mga chikiting dito sa ating barangay bilang ang sabi nga na ang Pasko ay para sa mga bata."
