The team from the Procurement Service - Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) led by Executive Director (ED) Dennis S. Santiago joined Senate interpellations to address queries on the proposed New Government Procurement Act (NGPA) sponsored by Senator Juan Edgardo Sonny Angara on March 18 and 20, 2024.

In his speech during a plenary session on March 11, 2024, Senate Committee on Finance Chairperson Senator Juan Edgardo "Sonny" Angara officially sponsored Senate Bill No. 2593, or the proposed New Government Procurement Act (NGPA). This followed the conduct of three (3) public hearings and ten (10) technical working group meetings which resulted in the introduction of concepts and modalities that will streamline the procurement process for the benefit of government agencies and other stakeholders.
In view of the conduct of the Annual Planning, Performance Evaluation, and Accomplishment Review (APPEAR) of various functional groups of the Procurement Service - Department of Budget and Management, identified transactions shall be temporarily suspended, from March 12 to 14, 2024.
Functional Group Directors of the Procurement Service-DBM (PS-DBM) joined Department of Budget and Management Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman in the conduct of benchmarking activities with the Singapore Ministry of Finance (MOF) on March 5-6, 2024 in relation to its public procurement system.
The Procurement Service – Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) continues to echo the call for women empowerment this Women’s Month as it joined the celebration of the International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8, 2024 at the Samsung Hall of SM Aura Premier in Taguig City.

By invitation from the Government Procurement Policy Board – Technical Support Office (GPPB-TSO), the Procurement Service – Department of Budget and Management (PS-DBM) sets up a Public Assistance (PA) corner at the GPPB Building in Diliman, Quezon City for inquiries about Common-use Supplies and Equipment (CSE) procurement, as part of the GPPB-TSO’s annual Procurement Forum. The event commenced on March 6 and will conclude on March 8, 2024.
