During the launch of the UPLB-PS-DBM Off-Campus Management Graduate Program in PS-PhilGEPS Paco Office attended by Dr. Portia G. Lapitan Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, UPLB; Dr. Fernando C. Sanchez, Jr. Chancellor, UPLB; Alfredo E. Pascual President, University of the Philippines; DBM Undersecretary Richard E. Moya; PS-PhilGEPS Executive Director Jose Tomas C. Syquia; Dr. Jose V. Camacho, Jr. Dean, UPLB Graduate School; and UPLB faculty and staff. 

The Procurement Service – Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PS-PhilGEPS) of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) today announces its partnership with the country’s premier university, the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) for its Graduate Program offer to its officials and employees.

In the “Kick-Off” last November 26, 2015 held at the office of the PS-PhilGEPS, Atty. Jose Tomas C. Syquia, Executive Director of the PS-PhilGEPS, proudly announced the partnership and thanked the UPLB leadership for providing its graduate program to the PS-PhilGEPS.

Holistic green purchasing and procurement towards achieving a greener environment were the focus of the presentation of Atty. Jose Tomas C. Syquia, Executive Director IV of the Procurement Service-Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PS-PhilGEPS), in the Kailkasan GP3 Expo Conference held at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig on July 23, 2015.

Atty. Syquia stated that the PS-PhilGEPS presently offers green products such as envelopes and toilet tissue paper with the mark of Green Choice Philippines. Specifications of IT equipment are also being studied to comply with energy saving measures. He said that the PS-PhilGEPS building was installed with 171 Solar Power PV arrays mounted on the rooftop that generates at least 20 to 30% of its energy consumption from solar and to contribute in avoidance of at least 31,000 tons of greenhouse gases from being introduced to the atmosphere. He also added that the organization does not use lights during day time and will soon be changing all LCD light bulbs into LED.

Kindly be informed that the PS – PhilGEPS will be conducting its Annual Year-End Physical Inventory for CY 2015. Please be advised of the following schedules:

• All agencies procuring thru fast-lane (pick-up) and provincial clients with urgent needs will be served until December 2, 2015

• Warehousing Division will deliver goods to agencies until December 2, 2015

• There will be no receiving and processing of APRs on December 3 – 4, 2015

• Suppliers delivering to the PS-PhilGEPS will have until November 27, 2015 to deliver prior to inventory. Acceptance of deliveries will resume on December 7, 2015.

All regular transactions will resume on December 7, 2015.

The PS-PhilGEPS Team

Officials and staff of the Procurement Service – Philippine Government Electronic Procurement System (PS-PhilGEPS) conducted its Annual Strategic Planning Activities last August 19 and 20, 2015 at Fontana Leisure Parks, Clark Freeport Zone, Angeles, Pampanga. The objectives of the activities were: (1) to assess and evaluate the plans and strategies for the year 2015 and calibrate them to achieve if not exceed goals and targets; and (2) to develop plans which will be translated into specific goals, objectives, strategies, programs and projects for 2016. It was also the opportunity for higher management to discuss the recently-approved reorganization of the PS-PhilGEPS.
